Hajiro–random asshole, rarely seen here lately, yet has over 5K posts. Oddly, he chooses to attack the OP for reasons that are not entirely clear.

It’s hajario, and I wouldn’t call him an asshole (in general), I don’t agree with his comments about Eve in this thread, but I’ve not seen him do similar before.
Sure, people are talking about “God,” but mostly they’re talking about how stupid certain of his followers seem. If I walk by a restaurant and notice a guy drunkenly vomiting in the front window, I might talk about the restaurant, but not in a way that’s going to lead to my eating there. Not all exposure is good exposure, and the exposure you’re providing to your religion is negative.
If you really believe in your responsibility to evangelize, you’ve got to do some more work. Evangelism isn’t just self-satisfied, easy, smirking drive-by postings; it’s hard as hell to do correctly. And there’s the opposite of evangelism, which consists of making your religion look idiotic; that’s what you’re currently doing.
I just want to get you thinking.

Jumping on Eve is bad enough, but leaping to the defense of an obvious fuckwit like Johnny M is the main reason for dubbing him an asshole. Maybe I’m cynical, but when a guy makes his debut with the type of threads linked in the OP, in my experience it’s just a matter of time before the inevitable banning. Interweb meltdown pseudo-drama is offered as a side order.

And in this thread. Posters use invective against others for one of two reasons. Some will use it because that’s what they are like in real life. Others, and the number will be greater, are abusive here merely because they can be. There’s no rule against that in this forum and therein lies a problem which has exercised my brain for some time now.
I’d really like to see everybody on some of these Pit threads in the same room discussing the same issues, and hear what kind of invective comes up in such discussions. I’ll lay a short price the abuse would diminish. That’s because many people here tend to hide behind the anonymity provided by a message board and, as such, would not have the courage to articulate their views using the same terminology. That is why this forum is far more divorced from real life than all the others put together.
I don’t have a horse in this particular race because, in my opinion, Eve is perfectly entitled to pit johnny M and hajario is just as entitled to disagree with her. The fact that he uses invective in a first encounter (or any encounter) with Eve doesn’t make him a special case. He just joins a queue behind others who do exactly the same thing, often without being taken to task for it. Sometimes it just depends who you are and who you are abusing.
Naturally, anyone who disagrees with me can just fuck off.

And yet you’ve obviously returned several times to post in other threads. If your views have any value, you should have no trouble supporting them. If you want them taken seriously, take the time to discuss, elaborate and defend them. Otherwise, piss off.
My complaint is not against his use of invective. It is about his mealy-mouthed assertion that it was not personal, and his lame attempt to justify that assertion.
Since I never said that, you can go ahead and get all uninsulted. What I said was that you were not worth getting into this fight with, and judging by the weak way you have attempted to carry your argument in this thread, I was right.
