I’ve read your posts but have not had time to do good research and respond.
I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around that statement.
So you don’t know why you said that Harris is ‘too progressive’ because you’ve not done the research - you just made the claim based on no knowledge of her platform. Similarly, seeing Biden position on violent protests in his own words has not informed your incorrect supposition on the matter - you just expect his immediate reaction to a news story you read this morning.
Very well.
I look forward to hearing your better informed opinions on these matters.
The news world moves fast and you need to also.
So, during the protests in Kenosha last night, three people were shot, two of them fatally. The police have arrested a 17-year-old, suspected of the shooting; I’ve read reports that he’s a white teen from Lake County, Illinois (just over the border from Kenosha), who went up there with a rifle to “patrol.” Reports are that he shot at several people, and when some of the protesters attemped to tackle and disarm him, he shot more people.
The president and the GOP should, of course, condemn the shootings, and the shooter, because the news world moves fast, and the GOP needs to also. But, you and I both know that a young white man, shooting at protesters, isn’t likely to receive such condemnation.
Nor will a far right militia calling for armed response.
I think they may squeeze him in to the Thursday speakers line up at the Republican convention.
Because he was way ahead of you and many others thinking that it was a good gotcha question? Check post #69 that you ignored.
I wonder how we could do that…hmm…
Whoops, wrong thread, here is the post where Biden explained weeks ago:
That was a no or yes question. Figures that you are not capable of answering it. In a thread about the presidential election what Biden and others did say is the most important thing, and clearly your sources are blatantly lying to you about what they are saying about what the Democrats do think about the violent elements. The country is crying out for leadership. Leadership that can unite us. Leadership that can bring us together. Leadership that can recognize the pain and deep grief of c…

But, you and I both know that a young white man, shooting at protesters, isn’t likely to receive such condemnation.
Not likely…
Unrelated to this:
I found out that after my last post the Discourse board gives you an award for first linking to other threads…
What I feel about it:

But even if you are right, nothing about Harris’s background should lead you to conclude that she is too far to the left. She is as moderate on virtually every single issue as Biden.
OK, bit of a hijack, I must admit, but I’m sick to death of hearing conservative blather about every democrat being a “radical leftist”. I wish someday they would kindly define where the dividing line is between what they think a “radical” and a “moderate” is.
That’s easy. A moderate Democrat is one that votes Republican.
There isn’t one. Most of the people spouting that line dont even know what it means. Back in January, the twitter mob was screaming about Michael Bloomberg being a radical left wing socialist.
There is an easy test to see if you’re a radical leftist. Look at your tongue. If it’s not in Donald Trump’s greasy pucker, you’ve just tested positive.
Here’s the opening of Trump’s nomination acceptance speech at the convention in 2016.
Our Convention occurs at a moment of crisis for our nation. The attacks on our police, and the terrorism in our cities, threaten our very way of life. Any politician who does not grasp this danger is not fit to lead our country.
Americans watching this address tonight have seen the recent images of violence in our streets and the chaos in our communities. Many have witnessed this violence personally, some have been its victims.
I have a a message for all of you: the crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon come to an end. Beginning on January 20th 2017, safety will be restored.
The most basic duty of government is to defend the lives of its own citizens. Any government that fails to do so is a government unworthy to lead.
How does anyone still take his ‘law and order’ claims seriously? Why would unrest drive anyone to vote for Trump when it is clear that his claims to quell it are untrue and he is incapable of having a positive effect on this issue?
I am voting for Trump.
Well, that’s one.
Why the fuck is he waiting for January to “fix” things?
I hear by promise to continue to ignore all of these Horrors for another 4 or 5 months!
