I consume media from AP, Reuters, NPR, BBC, and a smattering of other sources here and there that happen to come up in a news feed. I even am exposed to some level of Fox. I will admit that I avoid OANN.
I hear many things that I don’t want to hear, I hear things about my side that I’d rather not be true. I even hear about things on the other side that I agree with and even admire. But I need to know these things in order to be an informed member of the public.
The right tends to confine its media to things that will tell them what they want to hear. Things that will stoke their fears about the other, and give them reassurances about their in-group.
There is an objective difference in the reality that is perceived. The left may have a somewhat tilted perspective based on their media consumption and personal biases, but the right has a wholesale distortion of reality. They just tell straight up lies, fabricate, and twist things taken out of context to serve their false narrative.
Gorsuch was a stolen appointment. Kavanaugh is a drunken sexual predator. Both of them would have been appointed by any Reich wing president. Supporting Israel is standard US policy, catering to Bibi’s every whim is not. Moving the embassy to Jerusalem was counterproductive to long term peace prospects and is inflammatory to the Arab world. Killing the Iran deal was incredibly boneheaded, the Iranians were in full compliance and now have every incentive to restart their nuclear program. Deregulation is code for fuck the environmental regulations and worker protections. The flood of conservative judges are more to McConnell’s discredit than Donald’s. The military hardly needs rebuilding when the US spends nearly as much as the rest of the world combined. If confronting China means the disastrous trade war then it was a mistake, and Dumb Donald still thinks that when the US puts tariffs on foreign goods then the foreign country writes a check to the US. Most of the executive orders cancelled were done for no other reason than that a black president signed them.
Add to this mix of fiascos were his love affair with Kim Jung Un, his tacit approval of Saudi Arabia’s murder of a journalist, his dismissive attitude toward NATO, and his man crush on Putin.
I’m a leftist that consumes media from all sides: From leftist ones like Jacobin, to mainstream sources, to right-wing ones like National Review. I find it’s important to keep tabs on how the enemy views things that happen in the world. If you can understand them better, you can fight back against them better. At least that’s my view.
Anyone who is a Trump supporter or says they would vote for him and post it on this website, would immediately be called a racist, bigot, against kittens and kicks dogs. Ain’t worth it.
Why do you suppose that would happen? And what do you mean by “ain’t worth it”? Do you not have facts, evidence, examples, and the courage of your convictions to buttress your position?

Here’s a good summary of what he’s done. Or is he still blaming this on Obama?
The next time you hear Trump tout the economy, remember:
—40M Americans face eviction
—12M have lost health care
—30M are unemployed
—29M don’t have enough food
Don’t be fooled. Trump and Republicans in Congress have driven the economy into a ditch.
I never said I was a Trump supporter or voter, I said that if you were one and posted on this website , you were going to get pilled on. AND it happened to me. That was my point and why it wasn’t worth it.
The thing is tho, they typically are going to see pretty much the same press conferences. No matter where you go or who or what you listen to, you can focus strictly on what the candidates say, and ignore all of the spin-doctoring.
Yet no matter what vile or false things Trump says, they stick by him. That has nothing to do with what media they see it on, per se. [It may correlate, sure]
