I’ve got an uninterrupted weekend and I’ve decided to spend a day on my 8 year old car. It needs washed and waxed & I want to clean the interior to get the funny smell out.
I understand cleaning the vinyl & plastic - no problem there - soap, water, & Armour-All.
How do I clean the fabric & rugs? I was thinking about getting that foaming rug cleaner and a damp sponge for all the fabric but I don’t know if that’ll do the job.
should work.
Remember that when cleaning rugs, you are trying to transfer stains from the car fabric to the sponge/towel, so you should be ‘blotting’ most of the time…with minimal ‘scrubbing’. Scrubbing lightly to loosen, but blot to remove stains.
An excellent product from WESTLEYS ™ is called 'Clear Magic".
It gets out tough stains and it’s harmless (it ‘eats’ grease). I’ve used this on grease stains in Porsches, Dodges, GM cars, etc etc.
(One of those nice products that takes grease off by eating it)
You can even use it in place of the overall foam cleaner.
I would use Clear Magic on spots…get 'em out first…the do a general shampoo with a popular name brand shampoo type cleaner.
You’ll be happy. I’ve done this to many types of cars/fabrics.
