In particular, Spike Lee’s “bamboozled.” I’m also curious about the british series “the office.”
Bamboozled was mostly shot on a Sony VX 1000 in PAL format. Some (not many) sequences were shot on Super 16mm film.
I don’t know about The Office.
Thanks, Ooner. But for future reference - how did you know? I’m wondering about other bits of gear like this - like what Guy Maddin uses - and I don’t really have any resource to find this stuff out. Are there magazines/websites about this?
I’m a film student
(and I googled bamboozled XL1 and got a list of movies shot on digital and what cameras were used)
You’ll find a lot shot on Sony’s VX 1000 or 2000 and also many on the Canon XL1. Those are the most common 3-CCD professional quality digital video cameras. There are better cameras ou there (DV television studio cams etc), but these 2 are affordable for pretty much any low-budget independent film ($3-4,000).
