How Do I Change Email When Old Address Is Gone?

Tried to change my account to a new email address, but the board is sending a confirmation message to the old (deleted) address.

Best address to send queries about this?

Contact via PM @engineer_comp_geek and he can work with you to fix this.

Send me an email at EngineerCompGeek@gmail.com

But it has to come from your old (deleted) email address.

There used to be a convention that any domain would have an email address like:

postmaster@domain.com

which would reach an administrator who might be able to help.
I don’t know if that is still supported much, though.

I did contact engineer_comp_geek.

I’m sure that all be sorted directly.

The typical standard addresses are:

postmaster@example.com - in charge of the email system
webmaster@example.com - in charge of the web pages
abuse@example.com - handles all sort of abuse (spam, malicious attacks, etc)
admin@example.com - web site administrator

We definitely have a webmaster account set up, which I know for certain because at some point we realized that absolutely nobody was monitoring it (and that might still be true, I dunno). I think we have an admin account as well. If these are still working, they go to someone at the Sun Times. They don’t go to anyone who is involved in the daily activity of the message board. Similarly, the Contact Us email link at the bottom of each page also goes to someone at the Sun Times. It used to go to the webmaster account, which is how we realized that no one was monitoring it.

If you have any issue with the message board, contact a moderator. There is a list of moderators and which forum/category they moderate in the FAQ. Each forum/category also has a sticky at the top which lists that forum’s moderators. If you are not sure to contact, just contact any of us, or send a PM to “moderators”, which we will all receive. If we can’t handle the issue at the moderation level, we can contact someone who can.

I usually handle account issues. For other issues, you can contact any of us.
