Somehow, this stupid Windows Update page is my start page.Every time I start Internet Explorer, this is the first thing I see and I hate it.
I have changing my home page, which works well, but I still cannot figure out how to get the start page changed.
For the record, I am using Internet Explorer Ver.5.00.2919.6307
Any help would be greatly appreciated.I’m sure this is terribly simple and I am just too dense to figure it out.
"I have changing my home page…’
Er, ‘changed’ perhaps?
…wiping drool off keyboard…
From the menu bar select Tools/Internet Options…
A tabbed pane should come up. One of the tabs is titled General. The top textbox on that page allows you to set your home page.
On Netscape (which I use at work) you can set it so no start page at all comes up. This is convenient if your service is intermittent – you don’t have to wait forever to find out it’s not going to connect. (Not that the service is bad at work but there’s a firewall that creates occasional problems.) I don’t know how to do that in the generically-titled Internet Explorer.
