I had no idea that it would be accessible to the public. I am worried because of a privacy concern. There are people at work who may find my profile. That would be really bad for me. Can I flag my own post?
We users can’t delete posts. Moderators can, but they rarely do. Your best course of action would be to report the post to the moderators using the little red triangle in the upper right of the post. In the text box that comes up when you click on the triangle, make your case as to why it should be deleted. Good luck.
It’s a public message board. On the internet. How could you **not **believe it would be publically accessible?
As the search function grinds to a halt on the query: Find all posts by ellie303.
There is the five minute editing window if you have immediate regrets about something you’ve posted.
Best of luck finding a way to delete or
edit your posts here on the
ol’ Straight Dope Message Board, where (almost) every
post is
a permanently archived
legacy of your life choices.
Or you can start a bunch of new threads offering cheap V14GR4 and R0L3X, and hope the mods confuse you for a spammer.
Don’t worry. You’re leaving Denver soon anyway.

Wait a minute. Are you saying that anyone can get on the internet!?!?
I see the OP has made 14 posts. Let’s all try to figure out which ones she wants deleted.
Moderator Action
Welcome to the SDMB, ellie303.
We generally don’t remove posts around here. You get a 5 minute window after you post, and during that time you can edit your post, but cannot delete it (editing the post so that all it says is “oops” or “never mind” is the best you can do if you change your mind about posting it). After that 5 minute window is up, posts cannot be edited or removed.
Since you are new and obviously didn’t understand how things work here, I have hidden the post that you were most concerned about so that it is no longer accessible. None of your other posts contain anything personally identifying, so they will remain.
I’m also going to close this before the Streisand Effect has a chance to kick in.
