Walking by the National Mall, in Washington DC, I notice they have baseball diamonds and softball leagues in the parks just adjacent to the mall & monuments.
Does anyone know how I can join one of those sports leagues that play by the mall? I dont know enough people that would form a team together – how does just one person join up? I dont know of any one website that has this.
I played on one of those teams for about 20 years. My office, a large government agency, had enough people interested in playing that we formed about ten teams. After work we would go down to the Mall, actually the elipse in back of the White House, and claim one or more of the diamonds for our games. There was no reservation system in place for the diamonds; it was first come, first served.
If I were you, I would simply go down to the Mall some day and ask some of the players if they were interested in new players. Most teams are short of players, especially women, and are anxious for new ones.
