Bibliovore - certainly from my experiences here and interactions with different Arab people, your post is spot on. Regardless of how true or how paranoid these reasons might be, that’s exactly what I am hearing every day here. And from educated, well-travelled Arabs, many of whom have spent time in America - for work, study and travel.
Thank you Istara, that’s exactly my point. These are the current perceptions on “the Arab Street”, and these are the perceptions that fuel the current hostility towards the US administration.
As long as the OP is asking about the reasons for said hostility and ways to change it, then it is the perceptions of the “average Arab” that are of paramount importance here.
