Thanks, Bruce. It sounds as if these green peanuts aren’t something I’d be able to buy in Chicago, let alone grow on my teensy little apartment windowsill. I never knew that the ones I’ve been eating all along were already roasted. I thought they were born that way. Hmm, learn something new every day.
I LUUVVV boiled peanuts. I 'specially love the gross ones that come in a can at the grocery store. They are mushier and less salty than the homemade ones. When my brother moved to Oregon I spent a fortune mailing him cans of boiled peanuts. He mailed me apples that he ACTUALLY PICKED OFF A TREE!!
I bought a can of boiled peanuts at a truck stop. I haven’t opened them yet and I’m not sure I will until the next time I visit my folks. I want them to share the experience.
Well, folks, I just balled me up a mess o’ goobers. Can’t quite bring myself to eat them just yet seeings how I had a big ole T-bone for dinner. I’ll have them for dessert soon.
Hey, Bruce, Earl, and Searching…GO COCKS!
XJETGIRLX, I grew up in Moultrie, GA…just on the other side of Thomasville…ever been to JB’s BBQ?
Dag. I’ve gotta holler at my Pa, bein’ the native South Carolinian that he is, and ask why it is he never introduced me to boiled peanuts. Already checked out okra, chitlins, grits, collard greens, and kolrabi, why have I missed this Southern delicacy?
I love shopping at a store called Piggly-Wiggly, anyway! Even if they don’t sell boiled peanuts.
Ah yes, tupelo honey! I love it, and so does my yankee girlfriend. Best honey on the planet. I live in West Va now, but the last time I was home, I made sure to get some. I think we’re running low, so I guess it’s time for a trip home again.
Thomasville Rd, huh. Do you live in Tallahassee? I grew up about 20 miles west of Tallahassee, over in Quincy.
