Memory and color change. Anything more than that is too much like work.
Used to be memory. Then I discovered how to use the Subscription option. At first, I was subscribing manually, and unsubscribing when the thread got dead-ish. Now I default to subscribe to any thread I’ve posted in and now I’ve got a subscription list a couple 100 threads strong.
And yes, sometimes I’ll post a complete non-sequitor in a thread just to get subscribed to it. I’m lazy like that.
This is what I do too. Every few weeks to a month; I’ll build a list of threads I’ve posted in and scan through them for any interesting content that might have been added.
This – but I wouldn’t say that I subscribe to a lot of threads without posting. Just some. Once I’ve caught up via User CP, I browse by forum.
I used to search for my user name or do a “find all posts by” search, but I started using the subscribe/user CP feature when the implemented a time delay between searches. I didn’t like searching for my posts and then having to wait before I could hit New Posts. Also, I like that I can keep tabs on threads I don’t post to in the same place.
Also, it’s nice that when using the subscribe/User CP method I can find my posts with just one click from any page…on most VB sites.
Sometimes I’ll just bookmark a thread and pick up where I left off at a later time. If I’ve lost interest in the thread, I might be lazy and do a word-search for my username to see if anyone has quoted me before I delete the bookmark.
I don’t, if I see it again I might check in again, might not.
I didn’t know we could do that! :smack: I’m always losing threads when I disappear for a few days.
Ditto
I do the same thing.
Either that or I click on my name in the upper right of the screen where it says “Welcome, Serenata67” and check the threads there.
This is what I do.
Me too.
