Do I have to subscribe to a thread every time I post to one? Do a search on my name? Other forums have an icon on a thread if you have posted to it, but I don’t see one here. Am I missing something obvious?
Click on User CP at the top of the screen to find the threads that you’ve posted in most recently that have had replies since your post, for which the hamsters thank you, but to find things that you’ve posted to that nobody has posted to since, search your username.
Cluricaun’s advice only works if you’ve already set your account to automatically subscribe to threads you’ve posted in. So, do that and then checking your user CP will work.
Ah I found it. Oddly worded, which is why I missed it the first time around - maybe saying “Subscribe with no email notification” would be clearer than just “No email notification” but w/e.
I don’t subscribe to threads (though perhaps I could start). I click on “Quick Links”, choose “My Profile”, then “Find all posts by Bryan Ekers”. A list comes up of my last 25 posts. Yellow indicates new posts have been added to those threads.
This counts as a search, and thus can only be done once every five minutes.
THAT’S more like it. Thanks Bryan!
Even quicker - if you’re looking at one of your own posts, click on your name and select "Find all posts by … " The advantage of the procedure I described in post #5 is that it can be done anywhere, including the forum list.
Maintain the following as a bookmark (1 click, once you’ve set it up):
Space left between http: and the rest of the URL to break the link. Replace USERNAME with your username, and DAYS with the number of days back you wish to search.
(Obtained by examining the search form source, and constructing a URL by simply specifying all the field names in the URL. You may “can” any other searches into bookmarks this way, too. Most modern day applications don’t bother distinguishing between POST and GET, and you can generally use this technique for reworking a form submission into a bookmarkable URL. I’ve played this game on several sites.)
Thanks yabob!
Ya that’s a good one. 1 click ftw.
