How do you like your hot dog?

Usually, spicy mustard and raw onion. But it’s chili and cheese if I’m at Yum-Yum’s in Greensboro.

At home: mustard and relish.

From a hot dog cart: mustard, relish, onions and banana pepper rings.

Either grilled till crispy & browned or baked on a cookie sheet till crispy & browned. A litte sweet relish & finely diced raw onion, and cheese. That’s it. Mmmmm… now I’m hungry for a hot dog…

I also love a good chili dog with cheese & diced onion.

No mustard, no ketchup. Yuck.

I like Chicago style with real pickles instead of the dayglo relish.

Mustard and ketchup in that order.

Vegetarian with BBQ sauce or hot mustard.

Mustard, yellow or brown.

Chili, mustard, onions, maybe shredded cheese.

I like cucumber slices with brautwurst. It gives it a crunch but doesn’t take anything away from the taste of the meat.

Chicago style. Complete with neon relish sport peppers and a dill spear. In fact I now have an idea for lunch. Two please.

The amount of glop I’ll add is directly proportional to the quality of the dog and the manner of cooking.

Boiled to a nice grey color at the concession at the high school football game? EVERYTHING on it, including some of my chips.

My own hot dog of choice is all beef, natural casing, grilled (or rolled around in a hot frying pan) until dark and crispy, served on a toasted New England style roll with one straight line of Gulden’s spicy brown mustard.

At Nathan’s I do have sauerkraut and onions. Mmmm Nathan’s. (on Central Ave in Yonkers for me)

On the very rare occasions I eat them, chili and mustard. Thank you Tastee Freeze!

Ketchup and stadium mustard, at Progressive Field. Two please!

tomato sauce and mustard.

What ZipperJJ said, STADIUM mustard. And finely chopped onions. And cheese.

Most of the time, especially on mediocre-at-best convenience store hot dogs, I prefer ketchup and relish.

When I can get it, a decent dog with sauerkraut and sweet onions is excellent. Screw mustard.

The best hot dogs, though, are wrapped in bacon, stuffed into a soft bolillo roll, and topped with beans, grilled onions, fresh onions, tomatoes, mayo, mustard and jalapeno sauce. Yum.

Ketchup and bread 'n butter pickles. On a New England style bun.

Who knew there’d be stock images of New England style hot dog buns?

Onions and Stadium Mustard, or a Coney dog with yellow mustard.

Lots of onions, some ketchup, a bit of mustard and mayonnaise, wrapped in bacon

Or just a simply chili cheese dog

Yep! I get mine with relish and ketchup and they are YUMMY

Nope, they’re not. That’s what the buns are for.

ALWAYS ketchup, sometimes cheese or onions, but not a combo of all three. NEVER mustard, which I rank side-by-side with pickles as the worst food.
