Oh corkboard, I do it outside of old movies, and outside of anywhere really; once I’m outside the front door, that’s where it goes - securely in my breast pocket.
The corollary to this thread: Guys - which pocket do you keep your wallet in?
Coins in front, right pocket.
Bills in wallet.
Wallet in front, right pocket.
Right-handed.
I think that covers everything.
If you are guy using a change purse and you were not born before 1950 PM me and I will tell you how most of the world views you.
Ditto. I very rarely have any cash on me.
When I carried cards in my wallet they would get bent and worn and of course they would snap in half at exactly the worst possible moment. Plus I didn’t want to throw away my cigarette case after I quit smoking.
Oh, what do you know?!?
You don’t even know how many licks it takes.
I’m male and use my wallet to hold my bills, (when I have bills.)
I also use a coin purse to hold my coins, it’s a small plastic oval. I do use coins if it can simplify my change when buying something. I didn’t see an option for that so voted other. I’m guessing coins loose in my pocket are different from coins in a coin purse in my pocket. I use the coin purse to keep coins from falling out when I sit down and it keeps them (mostly) from jingling when I walk.
I was born in '58 and am getting used to people thinking I’m ‘old’.
As a retail clerk, I’m begging you, please don’t do this! I’m not a germaphobe, but the one time I get ooged out handling money is when some woman reaches into her bra and hands me damp money. Or worse, the one who pulled up her shirt, rolled down her girdle and handed me damp money. You may not think it is damp, but it is more times than not. And just the possibility that it was damp earlier, and has dried a bit…ew. I usually try to discreetly set those bills to one side, then spray them down with the Lysol after she leaves and set them out to dry.
And my answer was Other, because while I have a wallet and a coin purse and start out with good intentions, most change gets tossed in the purse loose, bills and all, and sorted out once a week or so.
Me too. I think it’s somehow considered unmasculine to deign to notice coins.
Hey, in my world it is only three.
Me too. I only buy wallets with a snap compartment for my coins, something that only comes around once every couple of years. Now, since I started bringing my own soda for lunch, I don’t use change except once every couple of weeks, but I still have it.
Male, wallet for bills, coins in pocket, or increasingly in the outer pouch of my backpack/sling so I don’t have to have forty pounds of coinage. I love Canada, but you buy something with a $20, and you wind up a huge load of pennies, nickles, dimes, quarters, loonies and twoonies in change.
Wallet for bills (paper money), coin purse on front of wallet for coins.
I keep my bills arranged (most of the time) in order: smallest bills first, largest ones last.
Every couple of days, I dump my coin purse into my “coffee can” in my cupboard; this is my “mad money” fund. Any time I want to do something frivolous without using ‘household money’, it comes out of the coffee can. It’s amazing how quickly the coins can build up! In fact, just recently, I’ve not gotten around to cashing in the coins, and have had to start putting coins in a bowl on my window sill, because my coffee can is too full to put anything else in! I’d bet there’s $100.00 in there!
If I’m wearing pants with pockets (when I am Ruler of the World, all pants will have pockets), change often goes into the pocket. This also goes into the coffee can.
ETA: female, late 40s (in case it matters).
I rarely use cash and I can’t even remember the last time I had coins on me.
So I guess nobody else saw Papillon.
Not only do I use a wallet for my bills, they’re organized incrementally and all facing the same way. This seems odd to many Thais, who just cram their money into their pockets and wallets any old way. I am often stared at in wonder as I straighten out and organize the change given me by cashiers.
Female- I use a long wallet with a built in change area and a section for bills and credit cards.
Male - Carry notes in my wallet, any change I get during the day goes into a tub which is allowed to accumulate until I can bothered to go get it changed.
I organize it by chronological order of the presidents that appear on the front. In the case of Benjamin Franklin, I use compare his birthday to the birthday of the closest president and place him in relation to that person
Also, I never carry change, at all. Anytime I get change on me for a purchase I keep it until I can dump it in my car’s little change thing. I have over $20 worth of change in there
I take it you’ve had no exposure to ass-pennies. Makes bra-bills seem nearly sterile.
Other.
Both coins and bills go in my wallet. When my wallet is getting too heavy I dump the change and sort it for later rolling.
