How do you play the B/F# chord on guitar?

I want to play that song by Radiohead, High and Dry.

One of the chords is:
B/F#
And I have no clue how to play it, and have failed to figure it out, could someone please show me by tabbing it?

Eg) The G chord…

—2—
—2—
—3—
—4—
—2—
—x----

IIRC

If I recall correctly, that is just a regular B chord with a F# bass note. So…

–2--
–4--
–4--
–4--
–2--
–2--

Which leads me to ask whether a normal human is intended to play such a chord? I’m plumb out of fingers.

You only need two fingers to play that chrod. Just barre on two and use your ring fingers to play across the fourth fret on the B,G, and D strings.

If you want to avoid barre chords, play
-2-
-2-
-1-
-4-
-0-
-x-

Though that’s a bit harder.

Hmmm, Sympatha has it. I gave you F#/B

Or you could play:

–X--
–4--
–4--
–4--
–2--
–2--

The F# on the top E string isn’t particularly important, or you could use a capo.

It also strikes me that that chord isn’t in that song.

The chords you are looking for are F#min, A, E.

That’s not B/F# tho’, the lowest note must be F#

Why not just

-x-
-x-
-4-
-4-
-x-
-2-

MC, I put the chord in upside down.

Lemme try again.

-x-
-0-
-4-
-1-
-2-
-2-

Here’s how I play the song:

-x-
-x-
-x-
-13-
-x-
-11-
-0-

to

-x-
-x-
-x-
-11-

then

-x-

-13-
-x-
-11-
-0-

to

then E

Repeat, then rest of song is F#m, A, E

Enjoy

Yep. Thanks. Got to go limber up my digits.

Cos that would be more like B5/F#, basically to play the chord you need a B major chord plus an F# which must be lower than all the notes in the B major chord.

edwino, I thought you mighta. "High and Dry was one of my favourites when I was about 15, but I couldn’t honetsly remember the chords.

[boast]most of Radiohead live only a few miles from me and I know their tour manager[/boast]

Yikes! all I wanted was one chord!
Thanks everyone for helping me out.

In regards to the chord… I used a tab sheet from mxtabs.net and it was only 4/5 stars.

Thanks edwino for the right tabs. Although I have a different way of playing the beginning chords that sounds a bit fuller.

I shall go strum ye song now!
