If you are posting from a web browser on a computer, you should be seeing the preview of your post to the right of the composition window.
If you’re posting on a phone, I’m not sure how to see the preview.
When you’re typing the post, just look to the right of the area you’re typing in. Preview right there.
It doesn’t do it for me. Desktop computer.
What operating system and browser variety are you using?
On my phone I select the button LRH corner that looks like a monitor, to preview.
Windows. Chrome.
Are you not seeing something like this when you are composing a post? (Specifically, what I highlighted with the red box in the lower right-hand corner.)
I figured it out. It was showing previous similar threads. I had to click the “escape” X.

Train one finger to use the escape key… that gets rid of Discourse’s stupid nag screens.
Pretty sure that one’s gotten me a time or two :). What gets really annoying is when the “similar” threads (which rarely have a lot to do with the current one, IME) keep popping back up and I have to keep hitting that X.
