Something weird happened today (I’m thinking after noon, PDT). When replying to, or creating, a post, I no longer have the preview screen to the right; only the screen I’m typing into. Also, I get a double space when I hit return. So if I want another paragraph, it looks like I have four lines.
Did something change? If so, can it be changed back? Did I somehow change my settings? And if so, how can I change them back?
There’s no double-spacing. The new WYSIWYG edit box uses a non-proportional font where the space character is much wider than you’re used to seeing. Welcome back to the VT05 or 3270 days. Complete w a zero w a dot in the middle. How quaint.
As noted, the new editor is WYSIWYG, so a preview is superfluous. The input box is the preview. Net of the gross font.
First the lack of preview, and the pseudo double space (it doesn;’ show up as a double, but it looks stupid in the WYSIWYG window (obviously that is not accurate, what I see is not what I get!))
Then for a while i got some pica-like serif font, like I was in Brazil using a typewriter to interface with the computer.
Can’t people just leave things alone that work!’ PS does this fix the you tube posting issues? KTHX
And why all the added formatting marks which, of course, make the posts look ridiculous? Why did I have to revert to Discourse-Classic just so I can read my own post?
Yes, I did that. But it’a not like it was before. It’s like I described earlier. I do get the preview, but the input screen has codes instead of the way it was before.
Sure you can. With the workaround. Which is change the &1 to &2 or whatever just before doing the [save edit]. Easier with preview off, but still doable with preview on if you’re quick.
For this situation I do all my editing with preview on so I can see what I’m doing, then turn preview off, edit the YouTube url to &2 or whatever, then click [save edit].
This is essentially the same issue as the thread linked in post 3. However, I have kept these as separate threads just to avoid confusion with replies to different posts.
