Short for Mundane-Pointless-Shit-isims. Of course, I’ve never pronounced it out loud. Hearing myself do so might induce me to change my mind.

nonono. you people have it all wrong, it is an un-pronoucable symbol. or at least it used to be, for a while people called it “the board formerly known as Mundane Pointless Stuff I Must Share”. now it prefers to be called “the board”
