I always pronounced it em-pee-sims.
Impy-sims. It just sounds right that way–perhaps the impious and impish shenanigans we sometimes get up to here has something to do with it.
I’ve always read it as Em-Pizzems, as if related somehow to Auntie Em.

I used to hear it (in my head) “mundane pointless dot dot dot […]” until leenmi told me he hears it “MIP-sims” and now that’s how I hear it too.
EM-pih-zims, which I think is the same as chattywine’s Em-Pizzems.

I know it’s wrong, and when I stop and think about it I can read it as Mip-Sims, or even M-P-S-I-M-S.
But if I just sorta glance at it on the way in and don’t give it any thought at all (my normal state of being it seems) it’s Ms. P’zms.
Emp-sims, even though that’s kind of wrong, and emp-sizms, even though that’s worse, because my brain always adds an extra s in there.
em-pee-ess generally, altho I can’t really remember most times (actually, I’ve comepletely forgotten… mundane pointless something…) what it stands for, so I sometimes read the anagram is “more pointless shit i must say”.
It’s emm pee sims for me too. I’m very surprised at the various responses here. Guess I’ll need to attend a Dopefest to understand your jargon!

For awhile I misread it as “miss-pizzums” (you too, huh, Phnord?), but now I’ve trained myself to mentally pronounce it “mip-sims.”
I drop the M, leaving a nice, clean, 'pizzims.
