Well… that my question. I’ve seen some threads about not having privacy because you can see a list of everyone who is on. Where do I find THAT?
On the top level message board page, at the bottom.
go back to the SDMB Home Page, and scroll down - after the links for the diffrent fora, there is a list of the members who are signed on.
Note that it’s linked to your e-mail address. If you’ve listed your e-mail address in your profile, you will show up on the list. If you’ve not made your e-mail address public, you won’t show up.
Check out the ‘privacy’ thread at ATMB - Mr. Davis has posted that the ‘current’ list has been turned off.

You can reach the main board page by clicking on “Straight Dope Message Board” at the top of the thread where it says “Straight Dope Message Board > MPSIMS > How do you see everyone that’s on?”
The ‘current’ list was at the bottom of the forum listing. I don’t know if it’s still there, since Mr. Davis said they were turning it off.
