I missed Sunday’s episode of “The Amazing Race” so I went to the CBS website to watch it.
When I click on the screen to play the episode a screen comes up with a little “Loading” icon circling around and superimposed over the screen it says, “You may have an Ad blocker in your browser which prevents the video from being played. Please disable the Ad blocker and replay the video.”
I do have an ad blocking plug-in (ABP) in my Mozilla browser but I right-click and tell it to disable itself for the CBS website. Of course, this makes no difference.
So I fire up Internet Explorer and try with it. I have NO ad blocking software attached to IE. But I get the same, “You may have an Ad Blocker in your…” message as I did with Mozilla.
Now, I know it was foolish of me to think that I could just go to the CBS website and watch the show without having to ask questions, download and install some drivers and boot and re-boot and ask more questions and install and uninstall more software and work-arounds, then update the browser and the plug-ins, go into BIOS and jigger everything there and then re-write the browser code and then go into the registry and re-write 40 fuckin’ things there and then uninstall the new plug-ins and revert back to the old plug-ins, boot and reboot uninstall and re-install the whole fucking operating system and then throw the computer out the window and buy a whole new fuckin’ new computer that still won’t let me watch the god damn show online.
But anyway, before I go and illegally download it, I thought I’d ask if anybody knows the secret way to watch videos on the CBS website.
