I made the assumption that they were affiliated with the violent rioters. Perhaps I’m wrong. That said, it’s no more egregious than the constant aggregation of conservatives, republicans, advocates of free speech, etc with racists, bigots, xenophobes, and shudders deplorables.

Seeing that the majority of anti free speech rhetoric and violence is coming from the left my assumption seems reasonable.

Thanks for answering. Such broad-brushing is always unwise, IMO, and always wrong. It’s also easy to avoid – just make an effort to be specific, and accurate, when accusing someone or some group of doing something bad.

And to just further emphasize the BS in this claim, this quote is from the Slate link above, but I’ve seen the same referenced elsewhere.

On transgender issues: Transgender people are “vastly disproportionately involved in sex crimes.” (This is technically true, according to the Justice Department, in the sense that trans people are disproportionately victims of sexual abuse and assault. “I don’t want these people around little girls in bathrooms,” Yiannopoulos added, lest anyone think he wasn’t being deliberately misleading.)

IOW, they are “involved” in sex crimes at a much higher rate, but only because they are the FUCKING VICTIMS.
