Okay, I can link to web sites in my SDMB posts. I can link to threads. How do I identify a specific post and link to it?
Frusteratedly yours.

Seems like a long-winded way of doing it.
You can capture the postid number by right-clicking on any of either the report post, edit, or quote buttons and selecting Properties. You can then copy and paste it from the Properties dialog.
Aw crap. That code activated it’self.
Should be like this…
Your post from 10:54 A.M.
which gives, Your post from 10:54 A.M.
Do not tie up the Search function simply to avail yourself of the following feature!
If you are already about to use the Search function to find a post that you think you may want to set as a link, note that one of the options on the lower left is to Show results as posts or Show results as threads. If you click the radio button for Show results as posts, when the search returns you will have two links for each hit, one to view the thread and one to view the post. If you click on the post link, the address displayed in your browser’s address window will be the direct link to that post.

Since this is a question About This Message Board and Q.E.D. has provided a link to a thread in ATMB, I’ll just close this.
