How effective is black pepper at dissipating THC affects?

I could link but it seems to be generally true, no matter where you look, that black pepper has some ability to mitigate the mind altering abilities of Marijuana. However, I can’t find numbers anywhere.

Could you sit comfortably sober between Cheech and Chong hotboxing in a VW van while you sucked on one pepper corn or would you be only lightly less stoned after eating an entire bag of peppercorns after one toke in an open air park?

I disagree with your premise.

But then I googled. It supposedly doesn’t stop the high but only the paranoia effect which happens to some. You’d still be stoned. Articles claim two or three peppercorns.

Terpenes. Black pepper has non psychoactive ones that, like CBD can mitigate a high. Think black coffee when drunk. You’re still drunk but it feels different. Black pepper can help you back to comfort if you go too far but it won’t undo all

Lemons are also “traditional” for relieving over-indulgence in THC. I don’t really know much about it from personal experience; a friend of mine swears by using both lemons and black peppercorns and says it takes off the edge if you’re having an anxious/panick-attack high by about 2/3s. But that’s all anecdote.

Hmmm. I always heard chugging a Mountain Dew (lots of sugar and caffeine) and downing a chocolate bar (lots of sugar, somewhat less caffeine) could mitigate a too-high high.

Are we in the realm of folk remedies here? Or is some of this real?

Just swallow them whole? Like pills?

Rather than folk medicine, I’d live to see some vetted evidence-based sources supporting this.

It may be hard as with cannabis terpenes all react differently to them. The usual advice is to chew two or three. Some sniff ground pepper for general anxiety or grind it in to water and drink. I am only familiar with stoners who claim it works for them.
