How far away are your nearest relatives?

My closest relatives are in Connecticut, 4 or 5 states away… my dad is in Florida, about a 14 hour drive, and my mom is in Arizona, about 2300 miles. (We’re in northern VA)

Right now, my grandmothers are 5 min away, same town. Both of my uncles (plus 4 cousins) live about 20 min away. My other cousin lives in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.

As of the 28th, my closest relative will be about 3100 miles away.

We’re from Rhode Island; I’m moving to California. People either live their whole lives in RI, or move faaaaaar away.

Living ones? That I speak to?

Chicago to Seattle is what? 2500 miles as United flies? A bunch of BIG states, whatever the numbers.

Well Tucson, Arizona to Orlando, Florida is about 2500, so I think it would be a bit less than that.

I’m in Beijing, China. My peeps are in Reykjavik, Iceland.

I can’t do the math, but I think it’s pretty far

My parents are about 45 miles away from me. My brothers are about 60 miles away. My sister is about 550 miles away.

5 feet.

I’m in California near San Francisco, my parents are in Washington, 13 miles from the Canadian border, and my sister is in Florida. My remaining grandparents and cousins are all in Los Angeles or San Diego.

Whatever the distance is from Illinois to India.

My family is mostly in Connecticut, too, Opal. Parents, all three living grandparents, all my uncles, most of my cousins. Matter of fact, we are making the 6 hour drive from MD to there this coming Friday. Along with the entire rest of the country, all of whom will be on 95 north. None of whom will be able to drive worth a rats ass.

Polling is usually done in IMHO, so I’ll move it there.

I asked Jeeves. 2800km/1800 miles. Far enough.

I assume that you are not including children? They live with me.

My sister lives with me.

My ex-sister in law and nephews live 10 minutes away.

My in-laws live an hour away.

My father and brother live a couple of hours away.

My parents are a little over half a mile away, my brother about 6 miles, and my grandmother about 15 miles. Thankfully, my in-laws are about 350 miles away.

My mom and one sister live within a 1/2 mile of me, my other sister within 3 miles. I have probably 30 family memebers within 35 miles.

Well, I have an aunt, uncle, and cousin living here in town, but I don’t really talk to them much. They’re, um, nice to a fault, so much so that it makes you uncomfortable to be around them too long.

Grandmother and another uncle live about 90 minutes to the west.

Parents are about 330 miles to the west. And my brother, his wife, and my nephew are in Colorado, about another 5 hours north from my parents.

Some of them are about 3 miles away which is fine. The others would be too close even if they were on the exact opposite side of the earth from us.

Closest would be my aunt in the Bay Area. I have a sister in Jerusalem, brothers in Spain & Mexico, mother on the Isle of Skye (Scotland.) And various lesser relatives on the East Coast and Arizona.

I’m in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
~My Mom and Sister are in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (923 miles/1486 km)
~My Brother is in San Rafael, California. (1839 miles/2959 km)
~My Father & Step-Mother are in Mill Valley, California. (1842 miles/2965 km)
~I have Grand-Parents in Sun City, Arizona. (1443 miles/2323 km)
~The other Grand-Parents are in Yucaipa, California. (1683 miles/2709 km)
~The remainder of my family is scattered all around So. Cali.

My father’s 30 feet away, in the living room. My mother’s about three miles away, at work. My aunts are in town, at various small distances (4-15 miles). My brother is about 350 miles away in Philadelphia. I have a “sister” (very, very good friend who should be a blood relation) in Hibbing, MN, and another in Carlsbad, CA. And I have an ex-boyfriend in Alberta, Canada, and another in Texas. (Not all my exes live in Texas…)
