How far away do you live from the spot where you were born?

Well, they don’t have one from my state in India, but from New Delhi to Albany it’s 7174 miles.

I used to live in Detroit which was 7369 miles.

And Nashville TN which was 7836 miles.

Whew!

Iceland_Blue: 11500-12000
Idlewild: 10751
Mama Tiger: 9400

are the top three right now. Although I seem to be a clean number 4.

Right across the state. I was born in Buffalo, NY, and I’m currently living in Manhattan.

1780 miles from the hospital, 1783 miles from first home (Hwever, hospital and home are about 8 miles apart, I think.)

6715 miles (10806 km) (5835 nautical miles)

From South Africa to Antigua…

2150 miles as the crow flies, or 2491 if you wanted to drive it.

You’d think I would’ve made more distance in 33 years.

I currently live 596 KM (as the crow flies) or 739 km/9 hrs 52 min (driving distance) from where I was born (Saint John, NB).

The furthest I’ve lived from where I was born is 2379 km (crow) or 3619 km/35 hours, 13 minutes (driving), in Winnipeg, MB.

The furthest I’ve ever been from where I was born is 5371 km, in Barcelona, Spain.

There’s no real fixed point, as I’ve been spending time lately at three seperate residences, but they’re all within a few miles of my birthplace, and in the same city.

At home: 6.97 miles
At college: 61.35 miles
My maximum was a couple years at 4459 miles

108 miles according to that site, but its a 145 mile drive. I’m in college now so that is expected, when I graduate it’ll probably be hundreds of miles away.

First 18 years of my life: about 20 miles from the hospital.

Currently: About 1700 miles.

I’m hoping this summer I’ll be about…3548 miles (Atlantic ocean included) away. The closest I will ever willingly live is about 125 miles (the distance between Philly and D.C.).

I almost had the closest location last time, hopefully I can win this go-round.

By mapquest, it’s precisely a half-mile, I live in the same neighborhood as the hospital I was born at, and had my son 22 years later. The hospital’s right next to the middle school my son attends now, although it was a junior high when I went there.

Can anyone beat 5 blocks?

While I live ~40 mins by car from the house I grew up in, I was born in Los Angeles. Since I now live a mile from the Chesapeake Bay, that’s ~3000 miles away, I guess. (Too lazy to mapquest it.)

8970 Km.

Born Westfield, MA; live Tel-Aviv, Israel.

And I’m not even in the top five :frowning:

Dani

For the rest of us Americans and other silly people, this is 5573 miles.

I do remember, I once slipped up and told Noone Special that I lived 17,000 miles away from my birthplace instead of 7,000. I mean, it’s just an extra 10,000 miles, right?

And here’s the top 5 so far:

Anaamika: 7369
biddee: 6715

As I noted in this previous thread, I currently live about 720 metres from the hospital where I was born.

Mapquest says 296.32 miles. Idlewild’s link didn’t even have my birth city, Peterborough, ON, on file.

I had to go with the nearest city I could find in my very small home state. My birth city is neither large nor prominent.

It does, however, appear that I need to move further away from home - I still have a few thousand miles to go to get as far away as possible.

According to how far 2079 miles which I guess is as the crow flies. According to mapquest it’s 2393.87 miles.

Roughly 2400 miles.

Currently:

Toronto-Tokyo (10370km/6444 miles)

In April, I’m moving to Melbourne (16255km/10101 miles)
