Total Est. Time: 15 hours, 7 minutes Total Est. Distance: 985.33 miles
I come in at about 8960 Miles = 14420 km = 7785 nautical miles = 12.5 Time Zone Hours.
Just 3440 miles short of the theoretical maximum. I wonder what the maximum distance is while staying in the northern hemisphere?
Born: New Mexico
Now: Hyderabad, India
I live about 4 kilometers from the hospital where I was born and I work just a kilometer away from it.
I was born in Jinan, China. I now live in Perth, WA. I also, at one point, lived in Vancouver, Canada. I am too tired to calculate how far apart these cities are, and no websites seem to want to do it for me. Maybe tomorrow.
9460 miles or 15,200 km. (And this is not the furthest that I’ve lived from my birthplace – that was about 10,500 miles or 17,000 km).
Less than 20 miles. I’m another left and came back person.
Just shy of 1500 miles from my hometown of Seattle, as the (pick a bird) flies. I came up on the ferry through the Inside Passage, so the actual trip was a bit farther! (Six days and six nights on a yawing, wallowing tub with two small children was an adventure in hindsight, at the time, it sucked royally!)
Do you prefer to be called Andromedian, Andromedian, or Androgynous?
Enjoy,
Steven
The second Andromedian should be “Andromedite”.
[hijack cont.] I was born in a Catholic Hospital and I was Catholic as a young child now agnostic.
My Mother-In-Law was afraid of the Catholic Hospitals (She is Jewish BTW).
She heard that if they had to choose between Mother or child they would save the child. [/Hijack]
Jim
I’ve heard that, too.
Our nearest Catholic hospital does Catholic prayers (different from Protestant prayers in that they mention Mary a lot) over the loud speaker every evening. But I’ve been told they sometimes do “other” (or was it “non-denominational”?) prayers, too. Still and all, if you’re an atheist, you’d probably want to go elsewhere for inpatient stays.
~650 miles.
Give or take, about 20 hours FLYING ! From D.C to Hanoi
Me, 5 miles (I went to an Accounting class in the now college, former hospital last semester)
Daughter, 15 miles
Brainiac4 4160 miles
Son, 6225 miles
(Four people, three continents - I thought about giving birth in Australia)
Per Mapquest, 632.69 miles. Strangely enough, 25 miles from where my mother was born.
As the jet flies, 6617 miles from my mother’s birthplace to my (and her) current place of residence.
As the Mapquest flies, 2089.25 miles from my father’s birthplace to my (and his) current place of residence.
My last trip from the city of my birth to the city where I now live took about 42 hours, but there was an unexpected delay due to weather in the middle.
As the crow flies: 1986 miles
Driving: 2590 miles
My wife was born on her mother’s 36th birthday. Her mom wanted to have her tubes tied, and the local Catholic hospital wouldn’t do that. She went to Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie instead. She awoke to the sound of the Ball State band practicing nearby.
