11.44 miles for me.
I haven’t left my hometown in search of treasure yet.

For me 5357 miles from Slough to Santa Clara, not far enough if you ask me
Using MapQuest, 257.9 miles from West Point, MS, to Gulfport, MS.
Approximately 100 miles - the hospital I was born at is about 2 miles from my parents’ house (and less than a mile from where I went to HS).
381 miles from Bakersfield to here. A bit more than six hours. (And here is a big improvement over Bakersfield, let me tell you…)
2354.5 miles from where I live now to Detroit. Anyone know if New Grace Hospital is built on the grounds of the old Grace or elsewhere?
Born: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Lives: Toronto, Ontario. Distance: 111 km or 69 miles accoording to that Geobytes thing. I suspect the actual distance point-to-point is slightly greater.
I’m so unambitious. I should be living in Finland or India or somewhere by this point.
According to Mapquest:
4.83 miles from the hospital where I was born to my current home.
Unfortunately for me…yes, Hal does like this hometown
Don’t like Slough? Then you’ll probably like THIS:
So you and Hal were both born within 6 miles of where you both live together now, but you were each born in a different place? wild.
'Bout 250 miles.
Born: Waynesboro, VA
Live: Waynesboro, PA
Soon to be about 3,000 miles…
According to Mapquest it’s 24.05 miles. On a sidenote, when I was born my folks were told that I was the biggest baby ever born alive at that hospital (12 pounds and 10 ounces and I needed a haircut and I was born 2 weeks early, this was 10/1965).
Unclviny
2581.34 miles from Chattanooga, TN to Salem, OR.
2,426 miles (and shouldn’t this be in IMHO?)
2300 miles SA to NZ
I was born in Lakewood, California (about as far south as you can go and still be in L.A. County). Except for about a year and a half in Japan when I was little, I always lived in SoCal – San Diego, Lancaster, and Los Angeles; basically within 100 miles of my birthplace. For the last six months I’ve lived in northwestern Washington, about 1,200 miles away.
Given the opportunity, I would live in Australia, England, Italy or France. (Anyone wanna marry a Yank? )
2139.18 miles from San Francisco General Hospital to the North Side of Chicago.
Yep! I was born in Point Pleasant Hospital (one town to the east of where we live now) and he was born in Lakewood (one town to the west of where we live now). And the funnier thing? Both of our parents lived in the same town…there just wasn’t a hospital in this town back then
Do you realize how many times we must have run into each other while growing up without even knowing it??? I love thinking about that
Another poster mentioned that they seemed to hold the distance award, and after reading this thread I think I can claim, so far, the closeness award. I live 1.2 miles from the hospital where I was born. MY workplace is right across the street from the same hospital.
What can I say? I’m a hometown girl!
