I’m not looking for value judgements or personal history stories, although feel free to provide any commentary you feel compelled to enter into the conversation. Also, I’m not looking for facts or hard statistics but feel free to share any that you may like to dig up.
I’m just trying to gauge common perception as to how pedestrian or kinky this sex act is considered to be. The thread topic had crossed my mind before, but I was inspired to actually start this Thread because I was surprised that is was not even listed as a Poll Option for the recent Thread Straight Men - What Desired Sexual Act/Aspect Won’t Your Wife/Partner Do With You (Now or Ever)? Anyone who’s into giving/receiving rim jobs would have been stuck with the “Other kink/fetish/etc (specify if you wish)” option.
So, is this something that is so completely out-there and perverse that you’d never expect it to come up in a conversation about sex unless suggested by a complete degenerate fiend? Or do you figure that at least a few of the people you meet in polite society might be kinda into it?

I like to perform it on women. I’m much more on the straight side of bi, but I wouldn’t be into performing on a man- at least none that I’ve ever been with. Probably just because I’m not gay enough. If I was more 50/50 bi then I might be as into every sex act whether with a man or woman- just speculating.

In the previous poll you mentioned, I just assumed that “Anal” was meant to refer to any kind of anal play, not merely penetrative intercourse with a penis. So someone who was only into rim jobs should pick the Anal option over there.
As for the spectrum in this poll: When it comes to percentage of people, I’m always confused when polls like this say “x% of people do this.” Do you have to do it every day to be part of the x%? Once a month? What if it’s been five years, but you would like to try it again?
Just people who’d say, “Yeah, I like that. My partner and I do it / When I’m with someone new I kinda hope they’re into it.”
For some people maybe it’s a once in a while thing. For some people maybe it’s a dealbreaker with a new partner. For others maybe they’d like their partner to be into it but it’s fine if they’re not.
So, really, just people who like it or at least are fine with it. For this Thread, frequency doesn’t enter into the question.

Yes, I know that the anus is cram-packed with nerves endings, and yes, I can imagine that getting it tongued would feel amazing. And I certainly understand the appeal of going up the down staircase. A simple shower should make sure things are clean and odor free. (For me personally, once things are clean, I’ve got no real objection to doing it, but no particular attraction to it either.)

It’s giving, not receiving, that I would think would freak most people out. If you enjoy anal play at all, I bet receiving is fine for you. I don’t think there’s anything weird about it (ask my girlfriend! ), giving or receiving (indeed, if you plan on pitching anally to someone and you don’t give them a rimjob first, I’d consider that a bit of a dealbreaker, or at least a major faux pas).
