I remember. As incredulous as this sounds, I ignored all the evidence the Bush administration was lying because surly nobody would tell a lie that big knowing they’d be found out. Boy, was I ever wrong! The difference between me and the average MAGAt is I eventually wised up and admitted to myself I had been bamboozled.

Haiti is a fixer-upper. trump wants turnkey countries like Canada and Greenland.
99% its driven by Trump’s and the MAGA crowds theories of racial supremacy and demographics. They are not shy in preaching their racial demographic/genocide crap.
They perceive Canada as big and white so they want it. Greenland gets to be eastern Alaska.
With Trump it really depends on who gets to make a pitch to him. And the American Right has always been hostile to Haiti, going back to before the Civil War (successful slave rebellion, you know), so somebody might try to talk him into it.
“Trump wants Canada” and “Trump wants to invade Canada” are two entirely different propositions. The latter isn’t his style - his style is to neg them until they agree to join the US to make him happy.
He won’t get anywhere with it because he doesn’t understand Canada or what their objection is - based on the last time he talked about it, he seems to think “We won’t be able to sing O Canada anymore” is the reason they don’t want to be Americans.
I am afraid that I cannot tell any reassurances of what Trump cannot and/or will not do from the sound of rats pissing in a sewer anymore.

That’s a bizarre claim, why would it? If unjust wars caused the aggressor to collapse then human history would be vastly different.
Why? The U.S. is the Great Lobster Pot Of The World, and our ability to adapt to and accept shit is legendary.
I tend to believe our current problems with Canada will follow Trump’s usual pattern.
- Trump does something stupid.
- Normal people get annoyed/upset/outraged at what Trump did (depending on the seriousness of the subject Trump is stupid about).
- Trump’s followers defend Trump.
- Reality asserts itself and demonstrates that Trump was wrong.
- Trump will claim that he never meant the stupid thing he said or did and it was only intended as a negotiating tactic.
- Trump will claim that whatever the current status quo is is the situation Trump always secretly wanted and that he has achieved it by his brilliant negotiating skills.
- Trump’s followers will proclaim Trump is a genius.
- Normal people will roll their eyes.
- Go back to step one and repeat the cycle.
He just recently asserted that when he said he would end the war on day one, he was being “sarcastic”. That’s one way of weaseling out of saying something pathetically ridiculous.
