And lots of other countries do. And as soon as America launches a first strike against a non-aggressive neighbor state, they’re going to realize that none of them are safe unless they collectively take America out. The inevitable result will be a global nuclear exchange.

Which is why they won’t launch nukes to protect Canada, since they know the US would nuke them in retaliation. The world won’t commit suicide for them.
More likely the result will be the opposite, and other nations will start using nuclear weapons in aggressive wars since it’s just become “acceptable”.
They also know that America will now nuke non-aggressive nations for no reason. Which is why they will have no choice but to strike first to minimize the damage they suffer in response. This is basic MAD. There’s no situation where anyone nukes anyone else that DOESN’T end with WWIII.
But that won’t minimize the damage, it will cause it.
I think we can all agree that Trump is a bully. And that Canada is standing up to him. Bullies don’t like opponents that fight back so my prediction is that after a time Trump will declare victory and move on.
And all the MAGAs will cheer.
