Female, 52
Score 20
I had trouble with the mid blue-greens, apparently. I also had trouble with the weird shadows and auras that kept showing up as I finished a row.
I scored a 12. Purple is my favorite color, but surprisingly my hue discrimination was weakest there!
Female, 39.
Just for my own interest I am tabulating the doper results (I want to know the score range for dopers + comparing men to women.
If anyone is interested I may post my results.
I got 10. I’d like to know which ones were wrong!

Think there are some subliminal messages in those swatches and we’ve all been brainwashed?
Male, 62.
I got 0 and a migraine.
- Male, age 34. In about the top 20%. Surprising, as I am a terrible color coordinator - I can’t match an outfit to save my life.
Joe
I got a 4, but I blame my husband. We’re laying in bed and the only light I had was his bedside lamp. He was reading a book and I was playing with the colors, and right when I got to the last few blocks on the last row, he shut off his light and said goodnight. So since I couldn’t see as well in the dark to rearrange the last few, or go back and double check my work, but was too close to finished to give up, I just clicked score. I, too, wish I knew what I’d missed, but perhaps I’ll try again in the daytime.
Oh, female late 40s.
Me too. Not about you, of course. But I thought for sure that at least one on the last row was wrong.
Male, 20-29
I got 11
Perfect here too!

I thought I’d have some wrong, my eyes are not the best, it’s kind of nice to know that at least I can get colours right!
ETA just tried again and got another 0.
- Age 36. All my years of studying art history didn’t help that much, I guess. Or I blame my crappy laptop monitor.
I gots me an 8.
Male - 39
Not too bad considering I haven’t worked on a printing press in almost 5 years. That plus I just kind of rushed through it at work. If I had been at home or taken my time I might have done better, or I might not.
I thought about using a contrasting loupe (a hole in a piece of neutral colored paper, on the press we sometimes just made a tube with our hands and looked through it) but figured that would be cheating as well.
Zero for me - male, 31, with no artistic bent whatsoever (unless photography counts).
It seemed pretty trivial, once I figured out what I had to do - I dropped them into approximate order, and then swapped them to the correct order. Any that were out of place just looked glaringly wrong in the gradient of colour.
Yeah, the only one I wasn’t 100% sure about was one of the mauve ones about four or five from the right on that last row.
BTW, is the final square of each row supposed to be on the next line, or is that just a weird display issue on my screen?
Female , age 40, good light, expensive monitor, so, no excuses whatsoever, and I got 50 as a score. Not even close to some of you ladies.
And I thought I was so good at distinguishing plants by leaf color!

I’m generally pretty good with color. Green hues are my downfall, though (if going through seven different shades of green on our first kitchen is any clue).
Otherwise, the tiles largely seemed to fall into place without much difficulty.
Cool test!

I knew I was doing badly - I kept squinting and moving my laptop around. On the upside, I wasn’t expecting a good score, as I suck at matching colors.
I could see the difference between all of the tiles, but judging the relationship between them was very difficult.
Don’t feel bad; I got a 78 and feel like I should go get a cane and a seeing eye dog.
I didn’t have the best light, but someone upthread tried to get rid of all the extraneous light, so which is better? To do it in the dark or in good light?
I did get impatient towards the end as well–it’s just not that important to me. But what’s weird is that I am usually very good at matching fabrics, paints etc. So, who knows.
My question is who is getting these scores in the 1000s? They must not be trying at all.
I’d be interested in your tabulations, feel free to post them in the thread.
