How has Former President Trump pissed you off today?

Oh, yeah; I’m also still waiting for your not-at-all-racist-no-sirree! definition of “shithole country” that does not include the massive shitpiles left behind by the Soviet Empire…

The moron appears to be trying to deny that he said shithole. Maybe. Parse this.

So does Starving Artist. See the notorious Joe Paterno thread.

His “memories”* of history consist of the pre-1960s USA (looping slides of Norman Rockwell paintings with the Ken Burns Effect) and everywhere/when else (stock footage of jitterbugging negroes and an acid trip scene from Dragnet).

  • Term applied with all the charity I can muster, and there ain’t none left.

“The things I said would have been offensive if I’d actually said them, but since I didn’t, they’re not.”

Too many colored people.

Not that I think that is what is happening, nor that I think it is a good plan, but you do have to admit, the more hatred and aggressiveness the republicans have shown, the better it has worked out for them, and the less they are willing to compromise to work towards common goals, the more the support they get.

Can you articulate what it is that is so much worse now than the 60’s? Taxes are lower, you have far more goods and services to choose from, your quality of life is far higher, the environment is cleaner, there is less violence in the world, and less crime in the US. We generally consider countries that have a quality of life similar to what we had in the 60’s to be shitholes.

What is it, from your perspective, that makes this country a shithole?

I challenge that statement on the grounds that I believe that the conservatives know very well what harm they are causing. They just seem to think that as long as they are causing more harm to others than to themselves, somehow, they WIN!

I’d like to bet that you get no answers to this question. Or the answer will be “I’ve posted it in many threads, I’m not retelling it here!”

He’s said it hundreds of times. Too many liberals.

I’ve seen multiple variations on the same joke since yesterday: Norwegians saying “Why would we want to move to that shithole country?”

Well, that’s one thing we can count on president thump for: dragging the level of discourse down to its lowest common denominator. MIchelle Obama’s saying, “When they go low, we go high”… in thumpworld becomes “When they go low, we go lower.” Who says he’s not good at anything! :smack:

My god. So I guess I’ve know for some time that people like SA ignore all facts and data. But sheese.

Trump peevishly cancels his trip to London, and blames a Dubya decision about the new U.S. embassy there on Obama: http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/12/politics/trump-london-trip-us-embassy-intl/index.html

And don’t forget the pot smoking liberals.

Let me be the first to say “what an asshole!”

No one wanted him there, no one wanted him to cut the ribbon. No one wants him to do anything but resign in disgrace.

You are 'waaaaaay too late to be the first.

To completely rip off another poster (Garius, not sure if he’s still around here) on another medium:

'The US Embassy move to Battersea was kicked off by Bush in 2008. They decided to move because they DON’T OWN the freehold. The Duke of Westminster does (it’s some of the most valuable real-estate in London).

There’s an old Foreign Office tale that when the Americans told the Duke to name any price, he said that if they really wanted it, then he’d swap it for the land the US government confiscated from his family during the American War of Independence. They asked him what it was.

“Virginia”’

Recently the Church which President Carter delivers Sunday School lessons have been posting his lessons on youtube. He spends the first 10-15 minutes usually talking about current events and what he’s up to with his work with the Carter Center. A lot of the talk obviously has been to do with the current administration and North Korea.

Although he doesn’t mention Trump by name you can tell President Carter doesn’t think much of him.

President Carter at 93 also makes far better analysis than Trump.

I’d be shocked and disappointed if he did.

I’m pleased to see that one of the people in the room, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill) is on the record saying he said it. I wish he’d also say “the President is a goddam liar if he denies saying it”, but we can’t have everything.

“No one” is such an inflexible term. I, for one, have been quite vocal about what I want him to do other than resign in disgrace. I want him to die of a vey painful heart attack.
