I think Superdude may have been thinking of the difference between net and gross. Trump may brag that he got three people released from North Korea, but two of them were captured during his time in office, so at best he’s +1.

To be fair, most of Trump’s base would have also been okay with Jews being killed.
I hate Trump as much as any sensible person… but I’m far from convinced he’s an anti-Semite. Let’s not forget that Ivanka, probably the #2 person in the entire world that he cares about (obviously pretty far back from #1, which is Trump himself) is Jewish. So is Michael Cohen. So was Roy Cohn, who was influential in Trump’s early business rise. So are, I’m sure, many of his other “friends”/business associates.
There are definitely strong strands of anti-Semitism on the fringes of the Republican party, and Trump’s feeble response to the Charlottesville protest was an embarrassment. But I think that this may be the rare case where Trump actually isn’t guilty.
