Just based on what I’m hearing in the news this morning: a whole lot of sizzle and not a lot of steak. Kim promised to move towards denuking (without defining what that means). We agreed to cancel war games (without telling South Korea or the Pentagon first). Nothing about sanctions, nothing about verification, nothing about diplomatic relations, nothing about human rights.
Here we go:

Run it tough? Seriously, how is it acceptable for the President of the United States to praise a dictator like this? Yes, what a talent! He can kill hundreds of his perceived enemies and starve millions of his own people! Maybe we can do that in the US one day!

Kim has always been careful to word it as “The denuclearization of the peninsula” , which presumably means north and south. I suspect that it means that if he allows our inspectors to poke around his country, then he gets to have his inspectors poke around our military installations and weapons tech, something I don’t think the pentagon is going to be too happy with.
Trump and Pompeo use the same phrase – it’s always “the Korean Peninsula”, not de-nuking of the North. Is this a tacit admission that there are nukes in the South?
So, in the span of a day, Trump needlessly pissed off and insulted the most important of our longtime allies, while cozying up to the murderous tyrant of a tiny country and getting meaningless promises from him in a photo-op. Well done, Mr. President!
I thought North Korea started the “denuclearize Korean peninsula “ phrase, to bring in the potential of “no first strike” (by US) promise, if they moved toward denuclearization.
I think it continues, because it’s snappy sounding.
I doubt that there are actual nukes in South Korea. What would be the benefit? Also, they could be captured if North Korea (somehow) quickly overran South Korea.
Lastly, I’m positive that I don’t really know what I’m talking about here. Just flapping my gums.
Trump’s modus operandi was to praise dictators (except Kim) and heap abuse on our allies. So Kim was an anomaly, but all’s right with the world now.
I hope the next president goes back to ignoring Kim. Well, I honestly hope he/she will just be able to unfuck everything that Trump has touched.

Occupy White House has agreed to stop all joint military exercises with our actual ally, South Korea. Of course the orange pile of diarrhea did not bother to discuss that with the South. The last person he talked to was KJU. Yeah, that’s turning out well. My wife, who happens to be South Korean, is not impressed either.
Il Douche tells us we can trust Kim, he knows him very well. Spent several hours with the man, took his measure. Like GeeDubya looked into Putin’s soul.
