I love that Trump seems strictly incapable of the most basic facet of human nature : learning. Like, it’s been two years, Don. Anybody but you would have learned, by now, that everything leaks in DC. Even the most pig ignorant fuck. And anybody would have concluded “therefore I’d better control myself and put on a mask of civility and knowing what the fuck I’m doing, 'cause they’ll keep telling people what I say and do”.
But not the Donald, oh no. This is just another nail the trusty tantrum hammer can stamp down ! Just need to tantrum harder !

Asswipe-in-Chief Chump thinks protests should not be allowed. So do many others of his ilk. The same yahoos who mistakenly think gun rights are enshrined in the Second Amendment apparently care nothing for the First Amendment.
Thanks to Colin Kaepernick having balls and to Trump having none, Spanish political reporters are now having to explain American football in order to report on the Nike-burning weirdness. The whole thing is providing a ton of free publicity for Nike, which I’m reasonably sure they don’t mind.
In the last months I’ve also seen articles explaining what “flat-earther”, “biblical inerrancy”, “biblical literalist” and “prosperity doctrine” are. So many people were perfectly happy not knowing those things. I mean, knowing the names of different types of American-football players, ok, great, I’m all in favor of sporty people doing sports, but couldn’t you guys have kept the rest?

Those of us who have tried to understand it tend to think of it as “a more-expensive version of rugby.” But that’s not something one prints out in a serious newspaper.

I played rugby in college and for a decade after. Never even got hit in the head, let alone concussed… because when you tackle someone in rugby, you’re not using your head as an offensive weapon. You’re basically hugging a guy to the ground. With your head behind the opposing player’s butt. Pretty good cushioning…
A lot of American football teams are getting training from rugby players in order to avoid concussions.
At the college I attended rugby was a club as opposed to an official university sport. Therefore they recruited players from the student body. My favorite recruitment poster read, “It takes leather balls to play rugby.”
