How has Former President Trump pissed you off today?

Hey, remember Ed Meese? Mired in scandal, was the target of many investigations, and held Richard Nixon’s belief that if the President does it, it’s not illegal?

Here’s your Presidential Medal of Freedom Mr. Meese

Also adding to the fun: one of Meese’s signature causes was pornography. So getting that medal from Mr. Appeared-in-Several-Playboy-Videos (not to mention Mr. Consorted-with-Porn-Star-While-Wife-was-Home-with-their-Newborn) must have been an extra-special feature of the day for ol’ Ed.

I love it when all of Rachel Maddow’s good points show up on the Dope.

They tend to percolate all over Twitter, too. (Possibly Facebook as well, but I don’t look at that so couldn’t say.)

You cling to that, cupcake, you got a long 5 years coming up.

Fucking Ed Meese. One of the biggest shitheads of the Reagan Administration. I had no idea he was still alive.

And who might YOU be, little man?

14 posts total, 12 of them today.

Fuck off, troll.

Polls show support for impeachment grows: 2020 Vision Monday: Polls show a 17-point swing toward impeaching Trump, which could drag down his reelection bid

Not that it will make much difference to timid, willfully-blind Senate Republicans.

It would need to be happening in their home state, and hence be a direct threat to their job.

Nice economy you have there in Turkey, Trump writes. It’d be a shame if anything happened to it: Trump's extraordinary letter to Turkey's Erdogan

I wonder why he didn’t just ask Erdogan to do him a favor.

There were … <skims article again, does some Chisanbop> … 14 things in this article that pissed me off, if we discount repeats. I was planning on enumerating them, but that might make me grind my teeth to the point that some of them shatter, so I’ll just leave it here and invite the group to come up with your own respective totals. Post 'em if you wish, but remember, this is not a competition.

I teach my students here Chisanbop (지산법). Heck, I even taught it to my wife (who happens to be South Korean). I also use Chisanbop quite often when I need to do some quick addition or subtraction.

How were you introduced to it? I learned it when I was a college freshman in Seoul.

Hippie/progressive, tiny, expensive, private New England elementary school for gifted kids back in the '70s. Forgot anything useful by the time I was 12.

Pretty much the same way most people my age in the USA were - through TV commercials touting some mail-order system of teaching it. I even remember a game show where someone tried to set a “world record” of some sort by using it, even though (a) I could do the problem in my head faster than the contestant could using it, and (b) in the end, she made a mistake when she thought the answer to the final problem was 100 more than it actually was.

Remember that this is the letter that Trump leaked to a Fox News host because he was super duper proud of it.

I heard an interview of a Turkish diplomat this morning on NPR (didn’t catch her title, some sort of envoy or something). Anyway, when asked what the Turkey thought of the letter she said “We ignored it. It lacked a certain diplomatic finesse.”

Another award for understatement of the year.

No doubt he was proud. Much better than he could have done on his own though. I wonder who helped him?

This from an administration whose diplomatic finesse amounts to ethnic cleansing of Kurds. And even they find a way of looking down on Trump’s “third grade” diplomatic effort.
