Yes, we must step in and start bombing in order to stop [del]Saddam Hussein[/del] Assad from using WMDs. That is what “being strong” looks like. The rest of the world will totally respect us for this action, and it will completely prevent Assad from doing this ever again. There will be no serious negative consequences to this action. The fact that we effectively warned the targets in advance we were going to do this in no way diminishes the awesomeness of this bombing.

I think Trump’s a fucking idiot and it’s scary to think we might go to war with him at the helm. But I’m not about to condemn everything he does just because it’s him.
This was the right action, and I’m actually pleasantly surprised by his quick 180.

Bad leaders do bad things to their people every day in the world. Are we seriously expected to bomb the shit out of every single one of them? Assad’s been doing bad shit for years; Trump, under Obama, said we should do nothing; why the sudden change of heart? Those “beautiful babies of God” should have the hope of finding refuge on our shores as an escape from Assad’s brutality; it’s not our job to “stop Assad” and every other bad guy in the world, but we can be decent fucking human beings and give refuge to the people fleeing him.
As it now stands, Trump’s plan is to lob another firecracker into the hornets nest and then lock our doors as the people getting stung come screaming for help.
