Those that were caught were sent back to England in chains, and hanged.

Bligh and Queeg were pretty similar - paranoid martinets obsessed with lack of discipline (both real and imaginary) among their crew, including dubious claims about food theft. While I understand that The Caine Mutiny was at least partially autobiographical, I would be unsurprised if Wouk put some of Bligh into Queeg.

As much as I would love to see it physically dragged out of the WH and unceremoniously dumped onto Pennsylvania Avenue, another impeachment is a waste of time and political capital. Moscow Mitch proved that. The Senate won’t remove it, and that results only allows it to cry “Victory” (because neither it nor its followers understant that it WAS impeached the day it passed the House).
FWIW, historians have been much kinder to Bligh than Hollywood has.

I get the hypocrisy. As usual with his spur of the moment decisions, he probably does not have the authority to cut their funding.
He said 29 states are in great shape. Which 29 would those be? I see maybe 4 states that are isolated and have low numbers. And re-opening these states with low populations probably would not re-start the economy.
I’m guessing the 26 states with Republican governors plus Kansas, Montana and New Mexico. It’s a bad idea, but the Republican governors will do what he wants, even though some of those states are in horrible shape.
