There was an interesting story about Vietnam. Relatively few tests, but concentrated where most effective. Aggressive contact tracing and quarantining (prob much more than we would accept or pay for in US). Good covid control, zero deaths.

I was holidaying in Vietnam in early March, and even then, EVERYONE was wearing a facemask. On my last trip in Aug 2019, it was only those on scooters and the odd random person on the streets, as per regular SE Asian hygiene practises. They took the threat seriously and EARLY, unlike many in the West.
In fact, since leaving my home town to fly to Sydney, then to Saigon, then back home again via Sydney, the ONLY place I was health-screened was at the War Remnants Museum in HCMC.
Vietnam had their shit together. We need to take some lessons.
