The president tweets a video in which a supporter yells “white power!”. NYT. Then deletes the tweet, claiming through a spokesperson that he didn’t hear it. So he’s either a racist or an idiot.

David Gergen was on CNN over the weekend, and I believe he has it right when he said that Trump puts up tweets like this to rally his base, and once that’s done then he deletes them and claims to be ignorant of any racist or xenophobic content.
