Grumble mutter mutter…“dire imprecations”…sometimes, it takes a lot of restraint to not advocate things that are violations if s[quote=“Euphonious_Polemic, post:8080, topic:777640, full:true”]
So Trump said earlier that people are engaging in a "“merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame our heroes, erase our values, and indoctrinate our children.”
Why is Robert E. Lee a “hero”?
Are the “values” that Trump is espousing the “value” of slavery and racism?
Does Trump view basic education as “indoctrination”?

o many different policies and laws… My GF came to me today and said she’s looking into immigrating to Canada. Not as a refugee, but she said she got the idea from a news article she read about some Canadian politicians advocating for extending refugee status to certain US citizens.(from what I was able to figure out from looking into the story, mostly children born here who’s parents are not here legally or not citizens if they are here legally)
I somehow got the impression that if that were to happen they might consider offering that to ALL US citizens who aren’t white.
This is something those …people…who support and like trump and his ilk would celebrate. Because they can’t see past their own nose to see how disasterous this would be for the country, no matter how you look at it.
Fucking fuckitty fucking fuck…sigh…
Hey Canada, can white people who oppose trump get political asylum too? Please?
Erm, not sure how that post I quoted ended up in the middle of my post and not sure how to fix it
To summarize the story, Julia Iafrate is an ICU doctor who has been working to fight Covid19 in New York City. She is from Canada but she has been living in the United States for thirteen years.
Under Trump’s anti-immigrant laws, she has been denied the permanent resident status she has been seeking.
tldr version: Republicans are masters of fear mongering, so the Lincoln Project, which comprises Republican non-Trumpers, know how to scare voters away from Trump. Democrats resort to guilt trips and subtlety, which doesn’t usually resonate with right-leaning voters. However, the Lincoln Project has that Republican absence of shame and goes straight to the jugular, like in this follow-up to Trump’s anemic Tulsa rally.

What Democrats tend to get wrong: the ad-makers assume that what bothers them, will bother people on the right. So they go for “Trump is a bully” ads----never catching on to the fact that people on the right tend to ADMIRE bullies.
What the Lincoln Project gets right: they know that what will bother voters on the right is NOT that Trump is a thief and a bully and a jerk. People on the right love robber barons, and admire people who do exactly as they please, all the time.
What will bother people on the right is the evidence that Trump is a LOSER LOSER LOSER LOSER LOSER.
Is anyone else’s spam filter clogged with outrageous entreaties from the entire Trump clan for reelection donations lately? I have no idea how I got on their list, but they are appealing to me as a “true patriot” to send them money and it will be matched 600%!!
The best one was the promise of a FREE “Keep America Great” hat if I will just send them $30. To paraphrase the late great Douglas Adams, this must be a new definition of “free.”
I get about 10 a day, compared with 1 or 2 from the Dems.
I rarely check my spam filter, so I can’t answer that, but I get text messages from them as well as snail mail asking for me to help the victory campaign. I’m a registered Democrat, I have no idea why they keep sending me their crap.
I wonder where his fans think the 600% matching funds come from? Trump himself? And all that money will lie unused if they don’t do their part? But then again, we are talking about idiots.
I get some of that stuff. I make a point of filling out the surveys with made up shit because it’s easy enough and if enough people did it it would fuck with their analytics and algorithms.
And I always return the snail mail solicitation letters. I used to draw dicks amd insults all over the forms first, but now I just check the boxes that say I’m enclosing whatever donation but (of course) I don’t send them a check. Because I want to waste as much of their time as possible and when I see all the calls from RNC flash across my TV ( we don’t use the phone number it came free with the cable package but I put it down for stuff like this) I know it’s working.
I got one of those letters during the 2016 campaign that claimed Donald J Trump was PERSONALLY matching all donations which I know was a lie, I forwarded it to the NY Attorney General with a note suggesting they were committing fraud. The bar was so much lower then, I miss the days when laws meant things.
Oooh, I like your style. Anything we can do to throw a box or two of carpet tacks into the gears. Diapers are smart Can’t we come up with something as good as the KPop kids?
Lt Col Vindman (who was on the list to be promoted to bird colonel before the malAdministration interfered) has retired prematurely. And his attorney makes no bones about who is responsible.
The statement from attorney David Pressman said Vindman, 45, was leaving the Army after more than 21 years after it had been made clear “that his future within the institution he has dutifully served will forever be limited.”
“Through a campaign of bullying, intimidation, and retaliation, the President of the United States attempted to force LTC Vindman to choose: Between adhering to the law or pleasing a President. Between honoring his oath or protecting his career. Between protecting his promotion or the promotion of his fellow soldiers," read the statement, first obtained by CNN.
The message is clear: do your duty to the Constitution, and you will face the wrath of the Mango Mussolini and his Minions*.
Yes, I mentioned this in another thread. I’ve been getting regular emails from the Trump campaign asking for money. I don’t know how I got on their lists.
Admittedly, I get more emails from the Biden campaign but I’ve actually given money to the Democrats so that’s understandable.
