You know the tradition of leaving a note behind for the incoming president? Maybe his will be a suicide note, seen pinned to his jacket after he’s found to have hanged himself in the Oval Office.
How has he pissed me off this time? Well, the bloodbath has started. Mind you, that’s only a metaphorical bloodbath. A police chief in Arkansas is now out of a job because he took his pro-trump nonsense to the next level, actually calling for violence against Democrats, the CIA, and the FBI, literally calling for people to hang them.
I truly hope that what I’ve posted here a few times does not happen, but I have no doubt it will: at least a few of these dumbasses who worship that conman are going to kill someone. And that’s going to happen soon.
One could argue that the ‘popular vote’ didn’t exist pre-Nineteenth Amendment.
Of course it’s Marshall. That police department were (I believe) also the ones who flat out said they would not enforce the Arkansas mask mandate, actually saying it was against people’s constitutional rights.
Even the other jurisdictions who were less than thrilled (To be fair, the order had no real enforcement mechanism–cops could basically only tell you that you should wear a mask, according to a police officer friend from high school.) were tactful enough to say they just wouldn’t prioritize enforcement over other duties. Only one saw it as a threat.
I was bouncing around news sites the other day and their front pages were filled with pics of Joe Biden with that big grin of his and it struck me how nice it will be to have a president who smiles. Over the past four years, every pic of that piece of shit Trump I saw, he always looked hateful.
As I just remarked in another thread, Trump doesn’t even really grin. The best he can manage is a predatory rictus. I suspect he thinks that he’s smiling, but the result is scary.
Yeah, I hadn’t realized just how oppressive that is until you see pics of a non-insane president.
I believe you can tell a lot about people just by looking into their eyes.
Look into Biden’s and you can see compassion, decency, personal tragedy, sincerity, intelligence.
Look into Trump’s and you can see none of the above, but you can sure see venality, dishonesty, narcissism, meanness, hostility.
Look into Trump’s eyes (you do it, not me!) and you can see Putin’s soul.
I look into Trump’s eyes and all I see is the glassy disconnect of an Adderall/Benzo addict.

How do you interpret the fact that Pompeo giggled weirdly through that whole statement? (Gotta see the video, of course.) It seemed to me that his giggles were saying, “I can’t believe the shit that is coming out of my own mouth. I wonder WTF I’m going to wind up saying next.” YMMV.
Who fucking knows with this trash? The fact is, Republicans are recklessly undermining our democratic institutions, but their pig fucking base is more concerned that blacks are getting uppity these days.
