There are already mass deaths among his supporters. Those deaths occur because they followed his bullshit about the pandemic. And they still support him. Maybe it’s because their idiocy and noncompliance with scientific and sound medical direction is causing the deaths of those they hate, too. Nope, that won’t get them to stop supporting him.

His angle is he wants to be the winner. In his mind–and reinforced throughout his entire life until now–just his wanting something got it for him. He is now being held accountable for something and the fingerpaint is finally washing off.
Trump doesn’t despise his supporters; he just doesn’t give a toss about them. They are tools, pawns, plastic figures on a chess board. That’s what they ought to figure out, but they won’t because they identify with his war against a perceived elite class that’s trying to make their lives more complicated.

Really, does it make a difference whether there’s a transition process in place? Trump didn’t have a transition team when he took office, and it’s not like his current administration has anything of value to pass along. As far as intel briefings go, Trump ignored/fired all his aides anyway, so that pool of knowledge is largely evaporated. Google is a better resource.
Biden’s not going to keep any of Trump’s loyalists. Whatever potentially disastrous orders they make can be delayed by the renowned DC bureaucratic process for a couple of months until sanity returns.
