How has Former President Trump pissed you off today?

All I know is that some Republican politician tweeted about the lawsuit a few hours before the White House announced that there would be no New Year’s party in Mar-a-Lago. At least one respectable news outlet (NBC, IIRC, in the streaming radio feed I listen to) has suggested that the events are related.

And everyone who paid $10k or whatever to bask in The Orange One’s presence tonight at Mar-a-Lago is just SOL.

No, no, not at all. They have the immense, soul*-satisfying knowledge that 100% of their gift will go to fund… um… something-something-something that Donnie thinks is important, without any of the $$ having to be wasted on such nonsense as food, booze, band, waiters, decorations, etc.! WIN-WIN!

*Assuming they have souls.

Hey… ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances. [/shrug]

There has also been speculation that it may have to do with the up-coming Jan. 3 anniversary of the assassination of Quds Commander Qasem Suleimani early this last year, with possible trouble with Iran looming. Further speculation is rampant as to whether Iran or Trump will initiate any such trouble.

$1000 I think I read.

A bargain! Especially since it included a concert from the FABULOUS Vanilla Ice!

And Rudy wearing a blue velvet tuxedo jacket. The 80s live!

Just one more con from Don the Con. Get their thousand dollar fees, and just blow 'em off. One estimate I saw was there were 500 tickets sold, so there’s half a million in the Don the Con getaway fund.

What?! No refunds?

Hahahahahahahaha

But Donnie Junior was there. And Vanilla Ice. And Matt Gaetz.

I would say “Unbelievable,” but of course it’s utterly believable.

Matt Gaetz, btw, stated this week that he belongs to Donald Trump, heart and soul.

“I’m not going back to yesterday’s Republican Party. I’m not going back to losing politely, with Mitt Romney. I’m not going back to the Bushes or the Cheneys.”

“This is Donald Trump’s party, and I am a Donald Trump Republican,” Gaetz said.

Matt Gaetz is Trump’s bitch now!

It’s a cult, not a political party.

I’ve read serious suggestions from saner Republicans – admittedly, that is a bit like saying “saner Nazis” – that it may be time for a new party.

The President of the United States is actively and openly practicing sedition and extortion. If you were constantly being dunked in boiling oil, would the question “What do you find annoying about your situation today?” even be necessary? The problem with trying to deal with Trump’s ideocracy one day at a time is that what he does one day is not wiped clean when the next day comes-it has accumulated to such an extent that, even if by some rare chance he doesn’t say and/or do something bad on a particular day, there is still an incredibly large pile of prior fuckupedness on the agenda to work through.

Cue the people who say “Well sure Trump called the Georgia Sec State and threatened him until he manufactured 1500 or so fake votes… But the Sec State refused! So it’s all fine, nothing to see here, move along!”

I want to hear Josh Hawley tell us how admirable it is for a President to pressure a state official to “find” votes.

Come on, Josh. Have the courage of your fascist convictions.

How has $45 pissed me off today?

He’s still breathing.

He’s normalized absolute ignoramus with no idea at all of how our government is structured to be in leadership positions. We have rot from the bottom to the top thanks to him. Idiots in his thrall are calling for protests and actual attacks on legislatures and courts, for governors to declare an election invalid and ordain that clown as president for a second term, and at least one idiot who is in a supposedly responsible position calling for the vice-president to delay inauguration until evidence is created, er, found of mass fraud “cheating” the clown of a win.
