The Acting FBI Director has, under oath, directly contradicted Trump’s assertion that the bureau had lost confidence in Comey: FBI's acting director rebukes White House claim that the FBI 'lost confidence' in Comey
The Soon-to-be-Former-Acting Director.
Trump’s Embrace of the Bubble
In a pair of interviews published Thursday, the president not only demonstrates his ignorance of policy issues but boasts of shutting out critical views.
…
As a million Twitter wags immediately pointed out, Trump hadn’t invented the phrase [priming the pump]. It is, as The Economist’s editors suggested, usually associated with John Maynard Keynes’s theories. (In fact, the phrase seems to have been popularized by Herbert Hoover.) And not only did Trump not invent it, he’s been using it since at least March, when he spoke of priming the pump in an interview with Robert Draper.
Trump’s blithe confidence that he invented one of the most common phrases in popular economic discourse is stunning on several counts. It not only suggests a self-confidence bordering on delusion, it illuminates a worrisome fact: The president both knows very little about the things he talks about, and has little interest in learning more.
Fucking. Moron.

It sounded bad to me. Digital. They have digital. What is digital? And it’s very complicated, you have to be Albert Einstein to figure it out. And I said—and now they want to buy more aircraft carriers. I said, “What system are you going to be—” “Sir, we’re staying with digital.” I said, “No you’re not. You going to goddamned steam, the digital costs hundreds of millions of dollars more money and it’s no good.”
Jesus. Fu*****. Christ. The man has nothing resembling scientific or technological knowledge and he’s giving the US Navy orders on using 65-year old tech because apparently the word “digital” gives him the willies.
I marched for Science in April. Maybe we need to do it again, because it sure hasn’t taken in Washington.
Consider my mind boggled. Maybe he thinks steampunk is real.

He hates anything that reminds him of someone giving him the finger.

Someone better tell him the railroads aren’t using steam any more, either.
In a private dinner, Trump allegedly twice asked Comey for a personal pledge of loyalty. He must think he’s emperor or something: http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/333062-report-trump-demanded-comeys-loyalty-at-dinner-in-january

I wonder if he realizes the aircraft carriers run under nuclear power, another thing you have to be Einstein (in comparison) to operate and maintain.

Pharoah. He thinks being president of the United States of America is exactly like the portrayal of the Pharoah in “The Ten Commandments”. Now you know why he loves executive orders so much. “So shall it be written; so shall it be done.”
And what keeps those planes in the air, where are the propellers?
My take on this is that Trump actually think the Federal Government works for him. He’s never been part of any organization or system, public or private, so he literally doesn’t understand the difference between subordinates and employees.

He also doesn’t seem to understand the differences between those, slaves, serfs and liegemen. If anybody tried to explain that obligations flow both ways, he’d just refuse to believe it. “Oh no, I have heard it, you know, everybody says, those old kings, they could just do anything they wanted, anything, any time!”
Actually, that may be a more coherent response than he’s capable of giving.

We’ll be going back to steam trains and steamboats soon. Gotta have a market for all that extra coal we’re digging out.
The navy just needs to explain that the catapult is powered by a S ystem T o E levate A ircraft via electro-M agnetism.
Simple, really.
I hear they do The Digital in The Ukraine and the The Congo.
Or maybe he dislikes any possible reference to his alleged … finger … shortcomings.
Time to dust off the plans for the ACE 3000 !
