He’d only negotiated with businesspeople before - never with politicians or diplomats.
I think it’s time to accept the fact that, when it comes to making deals, the business world is basically the minor leagues. The real professionals have always been in politics.
Now hosted by ex-CNN employee and spell-checker test subject Kayleigh McEnany, “News of the Week” (from Trump Tower!) covers the important stories that the Fake News outlets routinely ignore, such as the undeniable facts that last week Mr. Trump handed out some Congressional Medals of Honor, attended a rally on his own behalf, and most significantly, provided incontrovertible photographic evidence that our President can hold a sign saying “TRUMP DIGS COAL” upright and facing toward the camera.
Were you aware that Mr. Trump, merely by playing golf every other weekend, has personally added 1 million jobs to the economy? of course you weren’t, because you weren’t watching “News of the Week”. Thank heaven we finally have a source of Truth out there for discerning Patriots such as myself.
Maybe so, but this wasn’t a matter of a political outwitting. It’s Trump basically whining “If you’re not going to pay for this wall, I’m just going to take my ball and go home.” Is he so used to everybody bending over backwards to please him? Sheesh…
And now Trump is threatening North Korea with “fire and fury”. The natural extension of emulating the North Korean regime would be to have Kimberly Guilfoyle go on state TV, er, Trump TV and go into a bombastic harangue promising to turn North Korea into a river of fire.
Sitting in a city with three military bases, with the major armed forces medical training facilities right in the middle… yes, he is pissing me off about the Korea thing. Scaring me, too.
Sitting in Chicago, which may be the easternmost US city NK missiles can reach depending on which media reports one reads, he’s pissing me off and scaring me in equal measure.
*NK threatening Guam aside, lobbing one at Chicago would be a much stronger demonstration of their capabilities.
*Trump doesn’t care because (a) NK missiles probably can’t reach NYC or Washington DC, and he’d be evacuated by helicopter anyhow, so they can’t get him, and (b) he and his hardcore supporters don’t give a tinker’s damn for cities or the liberal democrat cosmopolitan non-Amurricans who live there. An American city blown off the map would be a few crocodile tears and a bloody shirt to wave around, that’s it.
Trump can stick his escalationist testosterone-fueled ironically-very-NK-sounding “fire and fury” rhetoric where the sun doesn’t shine.
Trump is leaving for a 17-day working vacation which will surely include golf, having once blasted Obama for taking a 10-day vacation and playing golf. Sad.
He left several days ago. He might have 10 left.
Why is there no outcry that he’s not rushing back to D.C. in the face of an international crisis like it was demanded of Obama?
