Sessions didn’t really have a line. He just thought he had no choice. I think poor Jeff suffered from being tested too early on. He didn’t get to hang in there long enough for “but what if we didn’t?” to become the norm. There’s no doubt in my mind that if that had been a operable excuse at the time, he never would have recused himself and would have crossed the line whole-heartedly. Witness his pathetic rebuffed pleas to be forgiven until he disappeared into ignominy.
He exists, which is enough reason for me to hate him lately. I’ve decided that my life goal at this point is to outlive the motherfucker so I can piss on his grave before I die. I realize there will be a long line, but I’m a patient man.
