I think this is what my mom does. She “doesn’t have time” to follow the news, she “didn’t hear about” whatever the latest outrage is, she “doesn’t want to go into all that right now”. All she knows is that she hates the Democrats.
No, I think the idea is that people don’t want to admit that, despite being an asshole, Trump is a strong leader. Or that they don’t want to admit that the leader the US needs right now must be a strong asshole, not a nice guy.

Accusations of “TDS” are so played out. How many charges is the man facing at this point? How many holiday messages has he done that were marked by naked hate and virulent othering? How many times has he casually made remarks that demonstrably made someone a target? How many classified documents did he retain while denying he had them?
